Let's be science based and intuitive with our eating patterns for exercise.
Research-based knowledge on the science of sports nutrition provides us with useful information to maximize our performance. However, this information often leads to prescriptive and restrictive diet plans, which often don’t account for individual needs.
At the same time, the principles of intuitive eating are well-researched and apply to all aspects of nutrition. In sports, eating intuitively can help to recover the health of those who have spent years dieting, are tempted to follow a diet or restrict their dietary intake, or who have struggled with an eating disorder.
Athletes and individuals committed to a fit lifestyle have significantly greater risks for disordered eating and eating disorders with prescriptive sports nutrition plans only feed that risk. We've both been there as athletes in the past--improperly or inadequately fueling due to lack of knowledge and listening to media hype. We want to help you prevent those same mistakes so you don't have to learn the hard way.
